CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA - Sheet Metal Arts has announced it is expanding its creative and business strategy capabilities with the appointment of Thayer Joyce as Head of Strategy.

In the new role, Joyce will be taking on leadership of SMA’s corporate and client strategic efforts, further cementing the offering for the studio and helping drive its overall growth. She will work alongside executive leadership and creative teams to develop insightful strategies for SMA’s roster of leading mobility brands. She will report to Rob Buchner, President.

Joyce brings nearly 20 years of extensive cross-category experience in strategic planning and business development, marketing and advertising, and award-winning content. She joins SMA from Hero Digital, where she most recently served as Vice President, Client Services, delivering world-class CX for keystone clients like Lucid Motors and Apple. Prior to that, she led client relationship strategy for Beats by Dre, Apple, and Estée Lauder at Elephant, an

IPG company.

Joyce also spent eight years with VMLY&R as Group Business Director, where she led several integrated teams to success and produced stunning advertising campaigns for top brands such as Dell, Motorola, SKYY, Kellogg’s and Ford.

Throughout her career, Joyce has been a mentor and coach to industry newbies and veterans alike, and has earned a solid reputation as a creative problem solver, sought-after advisor, and go-to marketing pro.
